I would like to say that anime gamer is a fucking idiot
why are you even replying in this topic, it's about anime. but if we all wanna read "you are gay", or "anime is for fags" we'll come to you first tay-tay!
not all anime is gay, and I'm not just making random posts about anime
k
animegamer is just one giant anime-junkie nerd faggot that says a bunch of shows are better than cowboy bebop, but when someone says THOSE shows suck he can't defend them. All of his posts are pretentious bullshit posts that are trying to make him sound smart yet fail at it miserably

He's like one of those fags that doesn't like something just BECAUSE everyone else likes it
First off, to make this clear. animegamer, is a girl, secondly what people like or dislike is entirely up to whom ever cares enough to (in this case) watch it, weather or not something is bad, is impossible to determain, because no matter how many people do not like it, is not a sign that it's bad by any standards, that whatever it is, is of low quality. simply, it's in the eye of the beholder that matters, nothing sucks because you or anyone doesn't like it.

I don't know. Daredevil sucks, no matter who likes it or not. I see your point but what Taylor is saying that she didn't back up her reasoning, making her sound like an asshat. It wasn't until later did she reveal why she liked the shows I disliked. Thats all he is saying, not that the shows suck, but that her initial defence on the anime shows in question were not backed up by fact, just by sheer pompous pride, which doesn't work when trying to defend something you like, at all.

I'm giving Bleach another go, just finished the torrent this morning. I will watch it when I get off of work.

I see where your coming from but it's just stupid, how much i see people, just say things like "your gay" so on, so forth, when it just makes a little more sense to explain your point of view, instead of acting like a total dick-wig.

I would have "google videoed" the episodes first, before downloading it.

I never said I hated Bebop I said it was highly over rated. I mean its OK... I just get so sick of hearing people praise it as being the best when its just average... reminds me of how my brother used to talk about DBZ all the time.

ya, it really is over rated, i hated the way they only RARELY caught anyone without killing, or losing them to another bounty hunter, or just plain getting screwed on the fine print, god dammit that happens TWICE once is enough. i guess you just have to assume that all there big catches are made between episodes.

Clarify. Thats really vague. You are just reiterating what you stated before. What do you dislike about it or what is the reasoning behind its overrated sensation?

Is it because everyone likes it that you think its overrated? Don't want to join the bandwagon? What?

Because I honestly believe its just a C average anime, ive seen series I enjoyed alot more, and a decent hand full ive enjoyed less. The whole space cowboy thing has been over done. Series like Outlaw Star, Trigun, Gundam, even Lupin 3 partially that cover a similar genre/mood also only score a C range in my book as I personally just dont like that kind of anime much.

(Im more into magic, fantasy, horror and comedy, not sci-fi.)

In my mind in all certanty ive seen much better than Bebop. It might not be that way for you. Im not "rebelling against a popular animes" if I did I wouldn't like FMA or Bleach as both are much more popular than Bebop. Its just a fact that ive never thought exceptionally high of the series.

I watched it fansubbed when it came out in the late 90's, when I finished it i moved on without giving it a second thought, to me even before its popularity it has been nothing more than average. The fact that people dwelled on it and acted like it was the king of all animes really just did nothing but piss me off. It was probably one the best they aired on cartoon network, but that isnt saying much.

Chances are any anime dealing with space or guns isnt going to score very high with me, I just dont like that kind of stuff. Im more into the "find the magical stone, slay the demons" kinda animes you were bashing earlier.

Ya I'm into the more, wild and outrageous story lines, like things that would never actually happen, Chobits, or One peice those are really cool, and i think that they really make use of that "could only work in anime" feature.

on the topic, not the cowboy bebop topic. has anyone seen "afro samurai" it's sooooo dumb, and the main character is voiced my Samuel Jackson. It makes no sence, in the anime they have cell phones, and RPG's but not Light bulbs. also, in a flash back, they have revolvers, but in the "present time" their using flint-lock rifles. where do you Americans find the ideas for this crap?

Gonzo is actually a Japanese owned animation studio. Its all done in Japan, Spike just bought the rights to show it in the states. Blame Japan for bad anime, as well as good ones.

The only good american cartoon series were in the 80's and early 90's, although there still targeted at kids. Modern american cartoons are complete crap, as well as being aimed at kids.

Anime however can appeal to any age including adults like myself.

I think you're quite out of date with those 'decent' cartoons. The best of the american cartoons came from the 50s and 60s, back when Hanna Barbara, Warner Bros, MGM and Disney were original and in their prime. Like anime though, any person of any age could get into cartoons, if they liked it, it's just there's alot of stigma over here in the west about enjoying cartoons, and anime is more diverse than our western cartoons.

However, from most of the adults I know, their preference of anime only goes into Studio Ghibli films. Although experiencing a slight boom in popularity over here, a good majority of the UK looks down at anime, and only really like it if someone they know draws the stuff.

There are a lot of current toons and animations out there that are developed in America that are fantastic. And then there are some that are horrible. Same thing with anime. It depends on where you look and what you look for in a cartoon. I know plenty of grown ass people loving the American cartoons of today. You're just not looking, or you've completely been warped into the anime world, which is fine, its your choice.

what the hell is wrong with you

The first series of the Flintstones, was aired in 1960. It's animation and graphics, as well as emotive expression, were much much nicer than cartoons later on, which became stiff and sometimes emotionless.

Yogi Bear, at his prime, was in the 60s.

The most eye-pleasing designs from popular series came from around the 50s and 60s, although it all really started in the 1930s, when animation was more experimental and as a certain animator put it 'more organic'.

Although I'm curious, when do you think the best animations were produced, Taylor?
