you do realize that those large corporate companies wont be able to look into other people's privacy because those people wont even be able to use the websites provided by said companies right? they cant interfere with their users because there will be no users to to even interfere with except for that top 1 percent who can pay for access. granted i am relieved that the FCC can go back to older rules instead of razing everything so the next president doesn't have to spend his entire period undoing it.

btw the word "shill" is quickly rising up to be in my list of top 10 hated words™ since the people who use that word are pretty much doing the exact same thing when they advertise the thing they are supporting.

i like how every president tries to undo what the previous president did over the last 8 years so no progress is made.

- a glimpse of what the off world colonies are like.
instead of showing the off world colonies they expand on other things like what things are like outside the mega cities which is equally as interesting imo. however they do talk about the war of calantha quite alot and i appreciate that.
- gosling's character showing genuine emotions.
i was sort of predicting this since i saw the first trailer:
gosling's character is a replicant. now that doesn't mean he should be devoid of emotions because he is a replicant. he has his own arc and story conflict with what he originally thought about himself, not just a rehash of the original like every other reboot has done. and overall he did a good job expressing what this replicant-blade runner who hunted down his own kind was going through throughout the film.
- more props less cgi
-special effects/props that look nothing like the original blade runner world.
there was more cgi than props, however i understand the use of cgi in certain areas to establish things and it was really well done. the props were still great but the cg was surprisingly better. and as for how the world looked, it was very believable as what the blade runner world would look like 30 years in the future.
-politics of this day and age to influence how the film is written.
the themes in the film were actually pretty relevant but the topics were in all the right places. gosling's girlfriend was my favorite example of that.
-deckard being a replicant
they actually left that inconspicuous. there were parts in the film where they kinda clue you in about it but never confirmed or de-confirmed it. in fact i think that they actually did a better job about that thought than the original.
-a cgi spinner chase scene
there was a scene at very end that involved spinners, but the spinners were not the focus of that scene at all. if you saw the movie youd know which scene i was talking about. its better to just see it for yourself.
overall it was great. i absolutely recommend watching it in theaters, especially for the soundtrack and visuals.

strangely enough my theater was only half full. and one of my friends who works at another theater in maine says that most of the showings including imax barely got filled up at all. so theres a high chance it'll bomb on sales but will become a cult classic much like the original. more people might be interested to see it through word of mouth while its still in theaters but it probably wouldnt make a huge impact.

it also makes me appreciate these three shorts a bit more knowing that they actually do help explain some events that happened between the original and 2049.

oh yea of course.

but its just that 2/3 other replicants got to beat him up to near death before he gets saved by someone else intervening (crowd of girls potentially witnessing zora murder someone / rachel shoots leon). i understand replicants are stronger than humans but you would think that blade runners are trained specifically to take care of things like this. call me picky but at least have him be able to kill 2/4 replicants on his own.

im gonna watch it this weekend.

things i want to see:

- a glimpse of what the off world colonies are like.
- gosling's character showing genuine emotions and not getting beat up like a little bitch like how ford did while confronting the replicants.
- more props less cgi

things i dont want to see but might happen anyway:

-politics of this day and age to influence how the film is written.
-special effects/props that look nothing like the original blade runner world.. similar to what happened with gits.
-deckard being a replicant
-a cgi spinner chase scene

i mean look at this shit

i know rareware's style of characters are googly-eyed cartoon objects, but you'd think they'd be able to make better characters after like, what, 20 years?

i never played a banjo kazoozie game or any kind of collectathon or rareware game, yet i was exited for this game like a fucking moron, probably because of the hype train and i was interested in trying out something like banjo. but then over time the devs started releasing horrid character designs and footage of empty levels with absolutely nothing in them. maybe the devs dont care since is essentially a clone leaching off nostalgia of a popular game, or maybe collectathons really are just outdated genres that we shouldn't ever come back to idk. but the worst part is that people are going to be throwing their money at this game anyway, and for the completely wrong reasons.

people are supporting this game because of an internet celebrity; they are supporting this game because someone they don't like lost his 20 second cameo for making an idiot out of himself instead of the actual gameplay itself.

its abysmal.
