Wade is not gay, read his profile! It's sad that you would use sexual orientation as a joke, shows that you have no real sense of humor.

I saw this on dA last night. You did a really great job. Shame to hear that this might be the last 3D piece you'll ever make. It was really impressive. Also, can you link us the the original animatic?

excellent work. i dunno 3D has a lot of potential but i agree with you about it being way more limiting than 2D
2d/3d hybrids are nice though
Oh, wretched ephemeral race … why do you compel me to tell you what it would be most expedient for you not to hear? What is best of all is utterly beyond your reach: not to be born, not to be, to be nothing. But the second best for you is—to die soon.

That was perfect,  the lighting, the movement, the mood. The soft blurs and glows that gave it atmosphere.
you evoked alot of emotion out of 30 secs which is a major plus.

great job

BTW when you created the rig, did you create it yourself using bones? or does maya have a preset structure system like character studio in max?

I use max, and I know I cant get alot out if it just because its alot of work just trying to figure things out,

everywhere I look people are saying go to softimage.

tHAT Was pretty amazing! I like when he lost his dentures and then (well I don't want to spoil the plot L0LZ!!) but overall it was magnificent.

I'd have to say that you are better at 2d/Flash but it wasn't half bad really!

lmao thank you!

I know it was pretty horrible but you have to understand

1. I had just learned the program the same day I made that (or the basics anyway)

2. I used 3D Max studios

But I hope you liked it. Yea I know my 2D arts better!

yeh it looked very beginner! but it was funny

looked like the first movie I ever made in maya however many years ago. *should be noted I haven't used MAYA since then, but it is way better than 3dmax

i created the rig myself with bones and IK. maya does have a 'biped' rig you can use, and it's better than 3ds max's model, but i do not use it because i like to create the rigs myself so i can customize it more. 3ds max's biped is a horrible way to animate, because you have to work it from the feet up. it's completely backwards as far as animating goes. the game and animation industry is predominantly using maya. i have never heard of softimage.

yea now that videogame software can handle MAYA's rendering engines all the game studios ditched 3dmax, which is the #1 reason why modern day games look so much better than yesteryears.

or something like that

companies like Blue Sky and Pixar have a lot of their own software you can't get anywhere else. For example, Pixar has Renderman for Maya, unique rendering software they developed, and Blue Sky has CGI Studio, a highly advanced 3D/live action integration software. You can actually purchase Pixar's rendering engine, but it isn't cheap.
